INDIANAPOLIS — George Albert Jones, 96, passed away peacefully Monday early morning, Aug. 30, 2021, at his new house at Traditions at North Willow. He was surrounded by spouse and children.
George was born March 18, 1925, at household in Muncie, Indiana, to his mom and dad, William T. Jones and Helen Louise Jones (nee’ Nelson).
He was the eldest of three brothers. He attended Royerton Significant University.
When his country named during Earth War II, George left college in May well 1943 and joined the U.S. Navy. He was in-depth to the Naval Armed Guard, wherever he served as a gunners mate on the ship Laredo Victory and other merchant ships in the South Pacific. Honorably discharged following the war, he returned to Muncie and to higher college, exactly where he graduated Royerton Large College with the class of 1947.

George joined the Church of God in 1952. He worshiped with the Willard Road Church of God congregation just before collaborating in the formation of the East 16th Street Church of God, both of Muncie. He later on was a member of the Evendale Church of God in Cincinnati, the Helm Road Church of God in Logansport, and and finally, the Delphi Methodist Church in Delphi, Indiana.
George is survived by his two young children, Michael Stephen Jones and Jana Lee Jones Ball (partner, Steve) his grandchildren, Joshua Jones (wife, Dana), Kathryn Ball Lanphere (spouse, Andrew), Stephanie Ball Krull (spouse, Timothy) and 6 fantastic-grandchildren, Alexa Rebecca Jones, Daniel Jones, Van Lanphere, Beau Albert Lanphere, Elliot Krull and Cooper Krull. He is also survived by his pricey nephew, Gerald Hoege (spouse, Sara), of Poway, California, whom he raised for a time.
George was preceded in dying by his parents his wife infant daughter, Julia Ann Jones and siblings, Robert Maxwell (Max) Jones and Ted Jones.
Funeral products and services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Avenue Chapel, with Pastor Dean Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
